****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. threerivershs.org PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR MESSAGE AND ASK HOW TO ADOPT Adamiss, "Addie", is a 3 year old female Chihuahua who currently weighs about 14 pounds. Her fur color makes her look older but she is not a senior! This cutie loves attention and to be held. She would make a wonderful lap dog and will follow you about during your day. She can be a little shy with new people, especially men, but once she feels comfortable (add soft voice and bits of hot dog!), she is playful and affectionate. She has lived with another female Chihuahua (who also will be available after her seriously needed dental is completed June 3rd). Addie appears to be house-trained here at the shelter. She does not seem to be a non-stop barker but would probably alert bark toward new people. Like many Chihuahuas, she loves to roll herself up in blankets! We really like this little gal and think you will too! Her adoption fee of $250 includes her spay, current vaccines, microchip, vet visit, offer of 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. threerivershs.org PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR MESSAGE AND ASK HOW TO ADOPT Archie and Edith came to us as strays so unfortunately we have no history. We can tell they were not socialized with people early in their lives because they display fearful behavior at first. Both will wag their tails and look like they want to move forward to meet folks, but they just don't really have the courage to follow through. Both of the pups will need friendly, confident dogs in their new homes. This will help them see the world as a safe place rather than overwhelming and scary. They will bond to the resident dog(s) first and then feel more comfortable to be with people. They may always be on the shy side and it will definitely take patience and commitment to help them along the way. We estimate them to be 3-4 months old and they currently weigh 25 pounds. We do not know how much they will weigh as adults since we never saw mom or dad. Edith is the shyer of the two and will not fit into just any situation. They MUST have another dog in the home and kids should be 8 or older. Are you truly ready for a puppy? Please research positive training techniques BEFORE applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and appreciate completeness. Adoption fee of $350 includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, complimentary vet visit, puppy book, offer of 30 day pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. threerivershs.org PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR MESSAGE AND ASK HOW TO ADOPT Dark Chocolate is one big, happy boy! He weighs in at 65 pounds and we think he is 1-2 years old. He came to us as a stray so unfortunately we have no real history. We did hear that he got into scuffles with other male dogs so we require only female dogs in a new home. Dark Chocolate is very friendly, out-going and treat-motivated. He walks well on leash and keeps his kennel clean here. He loves to play ball and with rope toys. He would make a very affectionate, loyal companion and is very tolerant. He would NOT be a dog park dog due to his dislike of male dogs in his space. He would be happy in a home where he could play for hours with his people in a fenced back yard. He would not do well in a home with a male dog in the neighboring yard barking and badgering him. Long walks would be best if they were not in places he would run into other male dogs being walked, so city life could be problematic. This handsome boy wants to be close to his people and that's what really makes him happy. No kitties, please. His adoption fee of $175.00 includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, vet visit, offer of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. threerivershs.org PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR MESSAGE AND ASK HOW TO ADOPT Junior was surrendered to us because his owner was moving overseas. He is about 9 years old and currently weighs 49 pounds. His owner reported him to be loving with everyone he meets and we have found that to be true at the shelter, with exceptions with a man he recently met. He previously lived with adults, children, other dogs, and chickens. He would live well with a female dog but is picky about males, especially non-neutered males. Junior should not live near livestock, particularly goats. He know basic commands and a few tricks! He likes swimming and fetching sticks. Junior is a pretty easy-going boy and would enjoy sleeping on the couch or taking leisurely walks. Junior would not be a dog park dog, just a hang around the house lovebug! He can jump a 6 foot fence if a cat runs by so he should not be left out alone for long periods. His adoption fee of $125 includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, offer of 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. threerivershs.org PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR MESSAGE AND ASK HOW TO ADOPT Darwin came to our shelter as an injured stray so unfortunately we know little of his past except he had been attacked by other dogs and suffered puncture wounds. He is definitely on the mend now and feeling so much better. Darwin is extremely affectionate and even somewhat needy! He will need a home where people are home more than away because he will certainly vocalize his displeasure at being left alone. He has some puppy behaviors including using his mouth in play and jumping up. He loves attention and to be petted. Children in his new home should be on the older side because he currently weighs 75 pounds and may grow larger. We wonder what breeds are all in the mix! No cats, please. Darwin is good on leash and keeps his kennel clean. Any other dogs in the home should be female rather than male and must meet here at the shelter. His adoption fee of $175.00 includes his neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, offer of 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. threerivershs.org Isla came into our care after her previous owner left her behind in an apartment when they moved out. We are always amazed how uncaring some people can be but Isla is safe now. We know she lived with another cat but do not know about dogs. She is a little shy at first but warms up given a little space and time. Isla would like nothing more than to gaze out a sunny window or take a long nap on your bed. We think she is about 5 years old but can't be sure. She is a lovely combination of a calico and a tabby. Cats are a commitment of 15 or more years so please consider her long-term care. We do not allow de-clawing of adopted cats or adopt into homes where they will only live outdoors. Her adoption fee of $65 includes her spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, testing for FIV/FeLV (negative), and offer of 30 days of pet health insurance.

****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. threerivershs.org Echo is truly a mixed breed girl! She looks a bit like a German Shepherd with short legs and a bobbed tail! Echo's DNA could show Heeler, Pitbull-type terrier, or all of the above! She currently weighs about 40 pounds and is about 1 to 1.5 years old. She came to the shelter after having met up with a porcupine. She has since recovered but may still hold a grudge against the prickly pests! She plays well with male dogs but not female dogs. She would NOT be a dog park candidate. Another shelter dog named Daklan is Echo's favorite work-out partner and they enjoy a rough and tumble style of play. Any potential dog roommates should meet here at the shelter before adoption. Echo has done well with kids of all ages but could knock small ones over when she gets excited. She is strong and will need more training on learning not to pull on walks. She can also be reactive to other dogs when on leash. We can help with this but it will definitely be something to consider if you live in an area heavily populated by dogs. No cats for this gal, please. Her adoption fee of $200 includes her spay, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, offer of 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

  • Prefers home without small kids
Brie is about 4 years old and currently weighs 55 pounds. Brie can be a little shy when first being met but warms up quickly with treats and kind words. She has many wonderful attributes and also some challenging behaviors. She is very smart and knows many commands. She loves snuggling and playing with her people. She is a real sun worshipper and loves to find a warm, sunny spot to nap! She really enjoys car rides. Her favorite games are tug and fetching a football for hours! Her challenges are her pickiness with children and with dogs. She has met children and liked them yet met others and wanted to nip. For this reason, Brie needs an adult only home. Since she is protective of her home, she is territorial toward other dogs and will bark and growl if they are in eyesight or close proximity. Obviously, Brie is not a dog park dog. She would make a great alerting dog because knocks on the door bring out her loud bark. People she does not know will not be welcomed into your home unless introduced slowly. Brie does not need to go for walks. She is content playing in her yard with her family. If she were to be walked, it would be most positive on harness and without other dogs sharing her walking space. Where would Brie thrive? 1) adult(s) only 2) only pet in the home 3)space to play with a football and tug in a fenced yard 4) no neighboring dogs that she can complain about. 5) owners that understand Brie and are willing to help her succeed and NOT expect her to be any different than she is. We understand that she won't fit a lot of households but we think her one and only is out there! We will support you all the way. Brie's adoption fee is $150 and includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag,

****ADOPTIONS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY AFTER WE RECEIVE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION & IT IS APPROVED. homeatlasths.org PLEASE DO NOT CALL OR MESSAGE AND ASK HOW TO ADOPT MOWHAWK**** Mohawk was brought into HAL as a stray then adopted a short time later. Unfortunately he was returned due to no fault of his own. Sadly the adopter ended up being severely allergic to Mohawk. He is 10 years old and absolutely the sweetest boy. He is very calm and loving and will have adorable little conversations with you in the morning while you clean or through out the day when you check on him. He loves to snuggle and be brushed he might drool just a little 😉 He would make a wonderful companion for a quite home. Even though he is the sweetest boy and gets so much love while here you can tell his misses being in his home. Please give this senior boy a loving forever home. you wont regret it. He has so much love left to give
