Gator is a handsome 1 year old, 24 pound boy that will need a patient owner to help him feel more confident. He has come leaps and bounds from when we first met him. He now dances and prances when he sees people he knows! He gets excited when he knows it is his turn to go outside and he loves to play with rope toys. A gentle, confident female dog would probably help Gator stay on track with becoming more secure. We think an adult-only home would be best for Gator since the sudden movements of children might overwhelm him. If you have the time, patience, and commitment to help this young guy blossom, you will be greatly rewarded. We will help guide you with consultation and written recommendations. His adoption fee of $300 includes neuter, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Margie was an owner surrender due to their having too many dogs to care for. She lived with the same family all her life. They tell us she is great with kids and new people. She lived outdoors with her mom dog and they got into arguments over food. (Both lived outdoors/both unspayed) .She might do best with a male dog in her new home. She likes balls and ropes and having attention. The owners had only nice things to say about this sweet girl. She weighs 65 pounds and is a little over one year old. We really like this sweetpea and think you will too! She can be met and placed on hold but not go home until November 26th. Her adoption fee of $175.00 includes her spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Powder is a stunning boy for sure! He has some tendencies that make us want to have an experienced husky home for him. For example, he has a growl when he doesn't want to be over-handled. He has never offered to bite, nor does the growling continue for long. Due to this trait, we will adopt Powder into an adult-only home. We think he is about 3 years old and weighs 51 pounds. Huskies are often aloof at first and we see that in Powder. Once he knows you, he is quite out-going, friendly, and "talky"! Of course, he will need secure visible fencing and not to be allowed off-leash. Please do research on huskies before applying to adopt. Powder is beautiful but wouldn't be the right dog for every home. His adoption fee of $250.00 includes neuter, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

The "Berry" pups are a mix of cute and cuter! We are truly having a hard time figuring out all the breed mixes in these pups! Juneberry has long legs but the rest of the pups had shorter legs! These pups are busy, happy, and friendly! They love to be active and see what the world has to offer. Juneberry prefers children over 8 in her new home, Little ones make her nervous and reactive. She is ready to be your companion day in and day out. Are you really ready for all the work in raising a puppy? Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We care very much about your application answers and they are reviewed for completeness and the best match. The adoption fee of $275 includes spay/neuter, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, puppy book, and engraved ID tag.

We caught you looking at this gorgeous guy! Jaunty Jetzom is ready for action and adventure. This handsome 1 year old would thrive with as a hiking partner and sidekick to explore as much as possible. Huskies, unfortunately, cannot be trusted off-leash and Jetzom is no different. They are just too tempted by the blue yonder! People know when you own a husky because you wear their coats on your clothes! They make up for these few quirks with being goofy, loving, and adventurous. We think Jetzom would do best with a female dog rather than a male dog in his new home. We are just getting to know this newly-arrived guest and will post more as we learn more. Pupdate: Jetzom has shown himself not to be for the first time Husky owner. He has some resource guarding behaviors which will need an ongoing commitment to working on this. A behavior consultation (and ongoing support) with our dog trainer is required for adoption. His adoption fee of $250.00 includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Meet handsome handsome Hachi! We haven't had Hachi at our shelter long so are just learning about him. He has a big, bold play style with other dogs and needs a sturdy play partner that enjoys similar play. He would prefer a female dog more than a male dog in his new home. He loves playing in water and getting dirty! His coat is stunning and he will share it with you! Huskies are not the ideal breed for everyone. They cannot be off leash dogs in un-fenced areas. They can be escape artists and Hachi fits that description! He will need a secure, tall fence, and not to be left unattended outdoors. Huskies need physical and mental outlets for their energy so be prepared to keep this guy busy. In a previous home, he was possessive of toys around young children, so kids in his new home should be at least teen-aged. Please do research on owning a husky before applying to adopt. They are a lot of work but a TON of fun! His adoption fee of $250.00 includes neuter, current vaccines, microchip free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Bobby came to us as a stray when he was found wandering with a female dog (we later named Whitney Houston!). So far at the shelter he has been calm, easy-going, and unfazed by the rude behaviors of other dogs. He came to us a bit underweight and suffering from mange. His mange has been treated and his coat is returning to normal as well as his weight has increased. We sure like this affectionate big lug and he enjoys a good butt scratch! All potential dog roomies should come here to meet. His adoption fee of $175.00 includes his neuter (scheduled for 10/26), microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Bubba Gump came to us as a stray so we have no history on this guy. So far at the shelter, he has been friendly and kind. He prefers female dogs and can be reactive toward male dogs when he is in an outdoor play yard. He walks well on leash and keeps his kennel tidy. No kitties for Bubba, please. We will post more as we get to know this handsome fella. He will be able to go home on Tuesday, the 29th. Pupdate - Bubba met the trainer today and showed that he has a very gentle mouth taking treats. He knows how to focus and sit on cue, but only when he is not distracted. When there are other dogs around, or other exciting stimuli, he acts like there is no one on the other end of the leash! An experienced owner, one who doesn't need a "dog park dog" will be best for him. He is a staff favorite, and judging from where he was found, and some scars on his muzzle, Bubba hasn't had the best start in life. He met a female dog today and did very well. His adoption fee of $150.00 includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccines, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Gogurt is a mixed breed girl of about 2 years. She came to us as a stray so we have no past history. Here at the shelter, she has been very friendly with other dogs (all males so far), and can handle dogs with a bold play style. She should meet potential roommates here at the shelter before adoption. She is affectionate and out-going and would greatly enjoy being a lap dog! We love her bubbly personality and think you will too! Gogurt's adoption fee of $175.00 includes her spay, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Tilly was an owner surrender that was previously adopted from us. She is a wonderful 10 month old mixed breed female with a LOT of energy. Tilly was brought back because she was having problems getting along with another older female dog in the house. She loves to play and LOVES her people. She is fantastic with ALL livestock and has even herded goats! If you want a good farm girl that can live indoors Tilly is your girl!!! Please research POSITIVE training techniques before applying to adopt. We DO evaluate your answers on your application to be sure of a good fit. We do not ship animals nor do we adopt them into homes where they will spend their lives as outside dogs. Are you ready for the work of gently raising a puppy to adulthood? It is a challenge but a very rewarding one for sure! The adoption fee of $250 includes spay, microchip, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Kolo came to us a stray and was never claimed. He came to us with a previously amputated back leg but he gets around well. We love this big 3-legged lug! He has met a passel of puppies that dug into his play yard while he was outside and was a real gentleman with them even when they thought he should be jumped! He enjoys human attention and being petted. He likes to be with his people as much as possible so a home where he is left for a long day might not be the best for Kolo and he may vocalize his displeasure!. He has been introduced to female dogs and although he didn't really play, he had a kind demeanor. It appears Kolo is house-trained. We have not tried him with cats nor has he met kids while in our care. We think he is between 5 and 8 years old so he is done with all the bad puppy behavior and ready for a soft place to live his retirement years. If you have other dogs, females only, in the home, we require the dog(s) come to the shelter to meet potential roommates. NO male dogs or cats, please. Kolo's adoption fee of $150 includes his neuter, microchip, recent teeth cleaning and extractions, current vaccines, free vet visit, 30 days of pet health insurance, and engraved ID tag.

Pupdate: Fontaine aka "Fawn", has been staying in a foster home and they report that her friendly and affectionate nature has come through. In foster care she mixes with other dogs of all sizes and sexes, and gets along well with everyone. She is in a foster home with three cats however she does have a strong prey drive and cats would not be recommended. She seeks attention and in return provides solicitous licks to the chin. She bonds easily with humans and is playful with other dogs. Fawn is trained to basic commands (e.g. âsitâ, âdownâ, ânoâ, âhereâ), doing well with potty training, walks on a leash. Even off-leash she stays close to her foster mom. Fontaine originally came to us as a stray and wasn't claimed by an owner. She is 2 years old, and initially she was shy and overwhelmed, but given where she was found, we can understand that she may not have had an easy start in life. Staff have been very loving and patient, and she is now way more outgoing, and walking on leash! She is a super affectionate dog, and she leans in for petting and attention. She gives solicitous licks to the chin, and the more petting, the better! Fontaine is somewhat fence reactive towards passing dogs, so we are working with her on greeting and playing with other dogs. She had a playgroup with a great patient male, and at first she was a bit over-bearing with him, mounting him, but when given a noise distraction, she backed off and started to interact calmly. By the end of the playtime, she was relaxed and just hanging out with another dog. Fontaine is a bit handshy and she doesn't seem to have been taught any basic cues, but she loves treats, and just needs to be shown force-free, that good things happen when she sits instead of jumps, and how life can be good and safe. As you can see in her photos, she is in love with one of our staff members, thats a great sign that she wants to bond! Fontaine's adoption fee is $175 and includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.

Izzy and her furry roommate Lotto came to us as owner surrenders. The owner said she needed to move and couldnt take the dogs with her, but also that she was working 12 hours a day and the dogs were inside with no access to a yard. She is a bit sad at all the recent changes, and she hasnt really interacted with other dogs besides Lotto, but she shows no aggression toward us. She chooses to come forward and near us, although we can see the sadness in her eyes. Her owner had both dogs for 4 years and never took them to a vet. Give her time, this sweetheart deserves a much better life! We think that she is between 7-8 years old. Pupdate - Izzy is definitely more relaxed and she's much more outgoing and happy. She's loving the yummy treats, and continues to make big progress! She easily meets new dogs, she is enjoying petting and affection, and she is doing her best to hold her potty until she gets outside. She is much cuter than her photos! Izzy should probably not have unsupervised time around livestock. She thinks they are fun to bark at! Izzy's adoption fee is $125 and includes spay, current vaccines, microchip, free vet visit, 30 days free pet health insurance, and custom engraved ID tag.

Holly is about a year old and is looking for her new furever home. She needs a home with someone who is an experienced dog owner and who will have the time and patience to work with and train her all while using positive and understanding techniques. She is very much still a puppy. She loves to play fetch and run around with her squeak toy. She enjoys car rides and being outside. She has a high pray drive so no small critters for her. She does well with other dogs that are calm but not so much with rambunctious players, its a bit overwhelming for her. Her adoption fee is $250.00 this includes her spay utd on her vaccines micro chip free custom engraved ID tag and free 30 day trial pet health insurance.

Kira came to HAL as an owner surrender. Not because she is a "bad" dog or anything of that nature but simply because she is just a big pup. She is about 2 1/2 years old and she is rambunctious and loves to play and go go go. She gets the zoomies when she is really happy so be careful she is sure to sweep you off your feet if your not on your toes. She previously lived with a cat and they said she did very well. She does well with some dogs but not all. She is in need of an active home that will get her out to exercise, play and work with her on her basic manors. She needs someone gentle and loving who will use treat based training and positive reinforcement work with and train her. She might be a big pup but she has a gentle soul. Her adoption fee is $200.00 this includes her spay UTD on her vaccines, microchip, free vet visit within the first two weeks of adoption, free custom engraved ID tag and free 30 day trial of pet health insurance.

Snaggle came to HAL as a stray and was never re-claimed. He has since been neutered micro chipped and updated on his vaccines and is ready to go to his new home. He is a bit on the ski-dish side so would be best suited in a calm and quiet home without small children or lots of traffic. He loves to snuggle up on your lap and just hang out. His adoption fee is $150.00 this includes his neuter utd on his vaccines micro chipped free vet visit within the first two weeks of adoption free 30 day trial of pet health insurance and free custom engraved id tag
